A Really Important Story...

Yesterday as we were finishing dinner, my son Jackson said he had a really important story to tell. Basically it went like this...

Today in preschool we read a story. It was about God. Some people didn't like Jesus and then he was dead. There was a cross. Then they put Jesus in a big monster cave and rolled a rock as big as a monster onto the cave. Three Weeks later he was back alive! Now he lives in the sky...

The four year old version of what he remembers from the greatest story that has ever been told. When you hear it from a four year old, you begin to remember the first time you could ever tell that story. I'm also reminded of the often used story where Jesus says, "let the children come." (Mark 10:14) That's good stuff.

Speak on it!

What hits me is that even as "adults" we are still invited to come as children. And at this stage, I'm just beginning to crawl!

Camdyn wants to talk about the cross a lot lately. She asks me, "Did Jesus have boo-boo's when he was on the cross? Did they hurt really bad? Did he cry? Did he ask his mommy and daddy to help him?" How do explain the concept of a "willing sacrifice" to a four year old? Even so, its still amazing to watch their faith unfold!
